Washington Nationals infielder Luis Garcia was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Chicago Cubs for an undisclosed reason.
What It Means:
Ildemaro Vargas is shifting to shortstop in place of Garcia while Maikel Franco enters the lineup as the third baseman and No. 6 batter. The Nationals haven't indicated whether Garcia is available off the bench or not.
