Martin Maldonado absent Monday for Astros
Houston Astros catcher Martin Maldonado is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Drew Rasmussen and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Maldonado will take a seat after he went 4-for-4 with a homer, four runs, and four RBI on Sunday. Christian Vazquez will catch for Luis Garcia and hit eighth against Rasmussen and the Rays.
Vazquez is averaging 7.7 FanDuel points per game this season. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Astros’ implied total (3.42) is tied for No. 12 in the majors today out of 18 teams.
