Matt Reynolds moving to bench in Reds' matinee

Cincinnati Reds infielder Matt Reynolds is not in the starting lineup for Friday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Adrian Sampson and the Chicago Cubs.

What It Means:

Reynolds will sit for the second time in three games after going 1-for-4 with a double and a pair of strikeouts in the Reds' last outing. Donovan Solano (eye) will replace Reynolds on first base and bat fifth in his return from a multi-game absence.

Solano has a $5,500 salary on Friday's single-game slate and numberFire’s models project him for 9.8 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Reds’ implied total (3.17) is tied for No. 22 in the majors today. Among Friday's projected starters, Sampson has the third-lowest strikeout rate this season (16.5%).
