Cal Mitchell sitting for Pittsburgh Monday
The Pittsburgh Pirates did not include Cal Mitchell in their lineup for Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Mitchell will sit out Monday's game against the Cardinals while Kevin Newman joins the lineup at shortstop and bats first. Oneil Cruz will start at designated hitter, Miguel Andujar will start in left field, and Jack Suwinski will take over for Mitchell in right field.
Mitchell is batting .227 with a .638 OPS this season, with 5 homers, 21 runs, 17 RBI, and 3 stolen bases in 231 plate appearances.
