Lourdes Gurriel in left field Opening Day for Arizona
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel will start in left field and hit third versus left-hander Julio Urias and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Opening Day.
The Diamondbacks acquired Gurriel from the Toronto Blue Jays in December. He will primarily work in the outfield, but Gurriel will also make some starts at designated hitter and help fill on first base. Kyle Lewis will be the DH and leadoff man on Thursday night while Christian Walker will play first base and cleanup the order. Nick Ahmed will start at shortstop over Geraldo Perdomo for the first game of the year. The lefty-hitting Corbin Carroll will bat seventh, but he's expected to hit higher versus righties this season. Here's the full lineup for Opening Day: Lewis (DH), Ketel Marte (2B), Gurriel (LF), Walker (1B), Evan Longoria (3B), Ahmed (SS), Carroll (CF), Gabriel Moreno (C), Jake McCarthy (RF).
numberFire's models project Gurriel ($2,800) for 7.4 FanDuel points on Opening Day. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Diamondbacks' implied total is 3.36 and the game total is 7.5.
