James McCann on Baltimore bench Thursday
Baltimore Orioles catcher James McCann is not in the starting lineup against right-hander Adam Oller and the Oakland Athletics in Thursday afternoon's series finale.
What It Means:
Adley Rutschman will replace McCann behind the plate to catch for Cole Irvin and Gunnar Henderson will move into the cleanup role. Ryan Mountcastle will be the Orioles' designated hitter and third batter. Ryan O'Hearn, who was promoted to replace Anthony Bemboom (DFA), will start on first base and bat eighth.
