Chris Taylor (side) remains idle Wednesday for Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Chris Taylor (side) is not in the starting lineup again versus right-hander Max Scherzer and the New York Mets in Wednesday afternoon's series finale.
Taylor is out for a second straight game after leaving the series opener early with left side soreness. Miguel Rojas also remains out on paternity leave, so David Peralta will start in left field again while Luke Williams covers shortstop.
Over three starts, Scherzer has registered a 5.09 SIERA, 21.5% strikeout rate, and 10.8% walk rate, and he's giving up hard contact at a career-high 43.2% clip. However, his 13.1% swinging-strike rate suggests Scherzer's punchout rate is due to improve. Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Dodgers' implied total is 4.09 and the game total is 8.5 on Wednesday.
