Brayan Rocchio called up for Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians recalled infielder Brayan Rocchio from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.
Rocchio was swapped with right-hander Hunter Gaddis on the active roster. The 22-year-old could make his MLB debut in the Guardians' weekend series against the Miami Marlins, especially if Amed Rosario (back) remains out. Rocchio is viewed as the top position prospect in Cleveland's organization.
Rocchio hit .344/.414/.459 with 7 doubles, 10 RBI, 4 stolen bases, 10 runs, 8 walks, and 9 strikeouts over 70 plate appearances at Triple-A this season while splitting time between shortstop and second base.
