Oscar Mercado manning left field Thursday for Cardinals
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Mercado is in the lineup against left-hander Julio Urias and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Thursday's series opener.
The Cardinals recalled Mercado from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday when they placed Dylan Carlson (ankle) on the injured list. He will replace Alec Burleson in left field and hit ninth on Thursday in his season debut. Nolan Gorman will also move down three spots and bat sixth while Willson Contreras hops up into the three-hole.
numberFire’s models project Contreras ($2,900) for 8.6 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cardinals' implied total is 4.13 while the game total is tied for the highest on the board at 9.0.
