Joey Gallo absent for Twins versus lefty
Minnesota Twins outfielder Joey Gallo is not in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against left-hander Wade Miley and the Milwaukee Brewers.
What It Means:
The Twins are holding the left-handed hitting Gallo out again versus a southpaw. Donovan Solano will start on first base again and bat leadoff. Jordan Luplow will man left field and hit third.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Twins' implied total is 4.04 and the game total is 8.0. Miley has a 3.05 ERA in front of a much higher 4.57 xERA this season. He's not giving up many hard hits (31.9%), but the lefty also has a career-low 16.3% strikeout rate.
