Nico Hoerner leading off Wednesday for Cubs
Chicago Cubs infielder Nico Hoerner will start on second base and bat leadoff in Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Tarik Skubal and the Detroit Tigers.
What It Means:
The left-handed hitting Mike Tauchman is taking a seat against a lefty and Christopher Morel is also out of the lineup, so Hoerner will handle the leadoff role after hitting second the past three weeks. Dansby Swanson will hit second for the Cubs on Wednesday afternoon.
