Mike Tauchman taking seat for Cubs' Wednesday matinee
Chicago Cubs outfielder Mike Tauchman is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Alex Wood and the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants may only use Wood as an opener, but he would hand the ball over to fellow lefty Sean Manaea out of the bullpen, so the left-handed hitting Tauchman is taking a seat. Christopher Morel is replacing Tauchman at designated hitter and as the leadoff batter. Cody Bellinger will make another start in center field for the Cubs and Patrick Wisdom will cover first base on Wednesday afternoon.
numberFire’s models project Morel ($2,800) for 10.1 FanDuel points on Wednesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs have the highest implied total on the board at 5.58 runs and the game total is a batter-friendly 10.5. Wood has a weak 17.7% strikeout rate and elevated 10.4% walk rate this season.
