Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (knee) is not starting in Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees.
After Guerrero Jr. was scratched with right knee discomfort, Cavan Biggio will shift to first base, Spencer Horwitz will bat in Toronto's designated hitting spot, and Whit Merrifield will take over second and bat sixth.
Per Baseball Savant on 432 batted balls this season, Merrifield has produced a 2.5% barrel rate and a .241 expected average.
