Austin Wynns absent for Rockies Friday afternoon
Colorado Rockies catcher Austin Wynns is not in the lineup for Friday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Jameson Taillon and the Chicago Cubs.
Elias Diaz will catch for Noah Davis and bat sixth as the Rockies open up a weekend series at Wrigley Field. Wynns started last game and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout and an error.
numberFire’s models project Diaz ($5,500) for 9.8 FanDuel points on the single-game slate Friday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Rockies' implied total is 3.78 and the game total is 9.0. Taillon has a poor 5.27 ERA and 5.11 xERA this season, with a 39.2% hard-hit rate, 21.5% strikeout rate (bottom 36th percentile of league), and 5.9% walk rate (top 84th).
