Mariners' Mike Ford not in Monday lineup
The Seattle Mariners did not include Mike Ford in their lineup for Monday's game against the Houston Astros.
Ford will take the evening off while the Mariners bring in rookie Dominic Canzone to bat eighth. Canzone will cover left field, Jarred Kelenic will switch to right field, and Teoscar Hernandez will take over Ford's spot at designated hitter.
The veteran has had a career-best year in Seattle, batting .227 with a .800 OPS across 240 plate appearances. He has tallied 16 home runs, 30 runs, and 34 RBI on the season.
