Twins' Royce Lewis suffers quad injury on Opening Day
Minnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis suffered a quad injury in Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals and was not able to return.
Speaking after the game Lewis expressed relief that he did not suffer another knee injury, but also intimated that he was looking at missing time. Lewis was one of the hottest hitters in baseball when healthy last year, but has had very unfortunate luck with injuries already in his young career.
Lewis was quick to start things off for the Twins' 2024 season, knocking a home run in his first plate appearance of the season and eventually going 2-for-2 on the day. Hopefully the promising young infielder bounces back quickly.
