Matt Carpenter riding pine for Cardinals Sunday
The St. Louis Cardinals did not list Matt Carpenter as a starter for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
What It Means:
Carpenter will take a seat Sunday while the Cardinals have Alec Burleson take over at DH and install Jordan Walker in right field.
Carpenter had a shocking bounceback season with the New York Yankees in 2022, but struggled with injuries in 2023 on the Padres before finding his way back to St. Louis this offseason. Hopefully the veteran will be able to regain his 2022 form for the Cardinals this season.
