Luis Garcia on Nationals bench Monday against lefty
Washington Nationals infielder Luis Garcia is not in the lineup for Monday afternoon's series opener against left-hander Marcon Gonzales and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The left-handed hitting Garcia will take a seat versus a southpaw. He went 2-for-11 with a double, a run, a walk, and 4 strikeouts in the first three games of the season. Ildemaro Vargas will cover second base and bat seventh in Monday's matinee.
numberFire's models project Vargas for 7.4 FanDuel points on Monday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals' implied total (4.33) is No. 8 in the majors today.
