MJ Melendez idle Tuesday for Royals
Kansas City Royals outfielder MJ Melendez is not in the lineup on Tuesday against left-hander Cole Irvin and the Baltimore Orioles.
The left-handed hitting Melendez will take a seat for the first time this season as the Royals face their first southpaw of the year. Nelson Velazquez will replace Melendez in left field and hit fifth. Salvador Perez will start at designated hitter, while Freddy Fermin will catch for Alec Marsh and bat eighth.
numberFire's models project Velazquez for 10.6 FanDuel points on Tuesday. Perez is projected for 9.8 and Fermin is projected for 9.2 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Royals' implied total (3.75) is No. 22 in the majors today.
