Guardians' Gabriel Arias absent Thursday
Cleveland Guardians outfielder Gabriel Arias is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Pablo Lopez and the Minnesota Twins.
Arias filled in at third base and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the Seattle Mariners. Jose Ramirez will take back over on the hot corner in Thursday's opener. Will Brennan will start at designated hitter and bat sixth. Ramon Laureano will return to right field and hit seventh.
numberFire's models project Ramirez for 11.1 FanDuel points on Thursday. Brennan is projected for 7.8 and Laureano is projected for 9.3 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Guardians have the worst implied total (3.22) in the majors today.
