Cubs' Garrett Cooper absent Wednesday afternoon
Chicago Cubs infielder Garrett Cooper is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Brandon Pfaadt and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
Cooper started at designated hitter in the first two games of the series and went 3-for-10 with an RBI and a run scored. Ian Happ will take over at DH and return to the leadoff spot on Wednesday. Miles Mastrobuoni will start in left field and hit ninth. Nico Hoerner will bat sixth after leading off against a lefty on Tuesday.
