Angels place Geovany Soto (knee inflammation) on 15-day disabled list
The Los Angeles Angels placed catcher Geovany Soto on the 15-day disabled list with right knee inflammation.
Carlos Perez has been called up in a corresponding move. There is no word as to when Soto might be able to return to action. He was just activated off the disabled list on August 9 following a bout of left knee inflammation and is still dealing with a thumb injury.
Our algorithms projected Soto for just 30 more plate appearances at a .683 OPS over the remainder of the season prior to this news.
