Marlon Byrd (rest) not in Reds lineup on Tuesday
Marlon Byrd is not in the Reds lineup on Tuesday. Skip Schumaker will start in left field and bat second against the Padres.
It appears Byrd is getting a night off. The Reds will face Colin Rea tonight who is making his major league debut tonight. In Triple-A he had a 4.39 ERA and 4.67 FIP to go along with 6.75 strikeouts per nine and 4.05 walks per nine, which are not good numbers. Schumaker only has a .250 wOBA versus righties this season so it may be difficult for him to capitalize on this matchup tonight.
