Pirates giving Andrew McCutchen the day off on Wednesday
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen is not in the lineup Wednesday versus the Atlanta Braves.
The Pirates are giving the struggling McCutchen a day off to rest as they have Danny Ortiz batting seventh and playing in center versus Julio Teheran. Josh Bell and David Freese move up one spot in the lineup to bat third and fourth, respectively.
McCutchen is hitting just .200 with a .275 wOBA and .214 BABIP in 188 plate appearances. He has six home runs and five stolen bases on the year.
