Braves call up Luiz Gohara for Tuesday start
Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Luiz Gohara has been called up from Triple-A Gwinnett and he will start on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers.
The 21-year-old left-hander was acquired from the Seattle Mariners this past winter and he's been dominant at all three minor league levels this season, with a 2.62 ERA and 28.4 strikeout percentage over 123 2/3 combined innings. He'll make his major league debut on Tuesday while Julio Teheran's start has been pushed back to Wednesday.
As a team, the Rangers have the 6th-highest strikeout percentage in baseball, so Gohara could be in a nice spot as he takes the big league mound for the first time.
