Blue Jays sign Marco Estrada to one-year extension
The Toronto Blue Jays have signed pitcher Marco Estrada to a one-year, $13 million extension, reports MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
The 34-year-old right-hander has had his share of problems this season, but Estrada is now 4-0 with a 4.45 FIP and .214 opponent average in his last six starts. It appears that he's rounded back into form lately and could be a key part of the Blue Jays' 2018 rotation.
Estrada is 9-8 with a 4.54 FIP and 22.3% strikeout rate on the year. His 2.87 nERD ranks 35th among all players and 23rd among all pitchers in our database.
