Aramis Ramirez, 37, is retiring from baseball
Third baseman Aramis Ramirez has announced his retirement from baseball.
The 37 year-old Ramirez played 18 seasons and was going to be a free agent heading into the 2016 season.
Ramirez hit .246/.297/.423 with 17 home runs and 75 RBI in 137 games this season for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. His .177 isolated slugging percentage ranked 10th among third baseman this season. Ramirez finishes his career with a .283/.341/.492 line with 2,303 hits and 386 home runs. The 386 long balls are the fourth-most by a third baseman in baseball history, trailing only Chipper Jones, Eddie Matthews and Mike Schmidt.
