Blake Griffin (knee, hamstring) 'very close' to return for Pistons

Detroit Pistons forward/center Blake Griffin (knee, hamstring) says he's "very close" to a return.

What It Means:

“I feel great and I’m ready to go whenever they give me the green light,” Griffin said. “I’m close, very close.” He will reportedly be re-evaluated on Wednesday, meaning Griffin could potentially be cleared for his season debut that night against the New York Knicks. Markieff Morris will lose his starting spot once Griffin is active. Andre Drummond also may not be as likely to keep slapping up 20-20's. The Pistons visit the Washington Wizards on Monday.

numberFire's models project Griffin for 23.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.8 triples per game this season.
