Thunder's Steven Adams (elbow) unlikely to be available for the next two games

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams (elbow) is unlikely to play in the team's next two games.

What It Means:

"I think he kinda went up to dunk the ball, kinda grabbed on the rim and basically around his elbow got stretched or jerked," Thunder coach Billy Donovan said. "I don't know if it was as much a hyperextension as much as it was kinda like a strain in his elbow with his ligaments." The coach also said his center "remains in pain," but his MRI came back clean. "I don't think there's anything torn or anything that's going to require surgery," Donovan added. "He's just in a lot of discomfort right now." Adams is without an official timetable for his return, so Nick Collison and Enes Kanter will each see more burn with Adams down. Of the two, Kanter is the bigger fantasy beneficiary.

Adams is sporting the 32nd-overall ranked nERD on the year at 5.0 while Collison is 82nd and Kanter is an impressive 13th. Our models currently project Kanter to put up 11.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in 21.6 minutes when the Thunder take on the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
