Pistons sending Delon Wright to Kings for Cory Joseph, picks
The Detroit Pistons are trading point guard Delon Wright to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for point guard Cory Joseph and a 2021 and 2024 second-round pick.
Wright had a starting role with the Pistons but he will likely be competing with Tyrese Haliburton for minutes off the Kings' bench behind De'Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield. Even if Hield is shifted to the second unit and Wright ends up starting next to Fox, he's unlikely to see the same sort of workload he did in Detroit. The trade should open up more opportunities for Saddiq Bey and Josh Jackson on offense. Cory Joseph also figures to see a larger role with the Pistons.
Wright averaged 27.6 FanDuel points in 29.2 minutes per game for the Pistons this season. Jackson is registering a plus-1.4 percent usage differential without Wright on the court.
