Joel Embiid (knee) on track to return Wednesday for 76ers
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is on track to return Wednesday in Game 2 against the Boston Celtics, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
Embiid is listed as doubtful on the most recent injury report, but it looks like he will return from a two-game absence after being named the 2023 NBA MVP on Tuesday night. Paul Reed will presumably move back to the bench and lose most of his minutes. There will also be fewer scoring opportunities for Tyrese Maxey and James Harden.
numberFire's models project Embiid for 31.6 minutes and 43.6 FanDuel points in Game 2, second-most among players. He has a $16,500 salary on the single-game slate. Embiid averaged 60.5 FanDuel points in four games against the Celtics in the regular season.
