Minnesota's Jimmy Butler doesn't appear in Sunday's All-Star Game
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Jimmy Butler did not play in Sunday's All-Star Game.
As his team, Team Stephen, fell 148-145 to Team LeBron, Butler remained on the bench. Original reports suggested that Butler was under the weather, but he addressed it after the game saying, "This Timberwolves season is very, very important to me." He probably requested to be left out of the rotation for rest purposes.
Through 55 games, Butler ranks 9th in the league in minutes (2,052) and 1st in the entire NBA in minutes per game (37.3). We project him to play 39 minutes per game over the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
