Giants' Saquon Barkley officially done for 2020 with ACL tear
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is out for the season due to a torn ACL.
Barkley had to be carted off the field Sunday against the Chicago Bears. He will undergo surgery soon and has a solid chance of being ready for the start of the 2021 season. Free agent running back Devonta Freeman is expected to visit the New York Giants on Tuesday. Wayne Gallman and Dion Lewis are expected to split most of the backfield work if the Giants don't add Freeman or anyone else. Gallman was inactive in Week 2 while Lewis rushed 10 times for 20 yards and caught 4 passes for 36 yards on 5 targets. The Giants will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3.
The Giants currently rank 25th in rushing offense, per numberFire's advanced analytics. Barkley only managed a Rush Success on 5-of-19 attempts this season.
