Drew Lock (shoulder) doing individual work at Broncos practice
Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock (shoulder) is returning to practice Wednesday, per head coach Vic Fangio.
Lock will be limited to individual drills as he returns to the practice field for the first time since injuring his throwing shoulder in Week 2. Fangio wants to see how Lock responds on Thursday before making a decision on the starting quarterback for Week 5 against the New England Patriots. Brett Rypien will make another start if Lock isn't ready to return.
Lock scored 13.14 FanDuel points in the opener in his only healthy appearance this season. He ranks 39th in Passing Net Expected Points per dropback among the 43 quarterbacks with multiple dropbacks this season. Rypien checks in at 34th. Neither quarterback should be expected to find success in Week 5 versus the second-best pass defense in the league, according to numberFire's analytics.
