Panthers claim running back Royce Freeman off waivers on Thursday
The Carolina Panthers claimed running back Royce Freeman off waivers from the Denver Broncos on Thursday.
What It Means:
Freeman will be Carolina's third running back alongside Christian McCaffrey and rookie Chuba Hubbard. Consider Freeman a depth move more than a direct handcuff to McCaffrey.
Per Pro Football Focus on 35 rushing attempts last season, the 25-year old produced 170 yards, 2.86 yards after contact per carry, and a 72.6 rushing rating.
