Evan Engram (calf) not practicing Monday
New York Giants tight end Evan Engram (calf) did not participate in Monday's walkthrough practice.
Engram missed the Giants' Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos, and could be on pace now to miss the team's Week 2 contest against the Washington Football Team on Thursday Night Football. The Giants did not technically practice, but still had to submit an "injury report" because they are playing this Thursday.
Engram drew plenty of targets in his first season under offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, but struggled with drops and archaic route trees on his way to posting 63 catches for 654 yards and 1 touchdown in 2020. Even if he returns for Week 2, his presence will likely do less for his own fantasy value than it would to draw fantasy away from receivers like Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard.
