Rapoport: Jerry Jeudy (ankle) probably out 6 weeks for Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy's recovery timeline for a high-ankle sprain is "probably closer to six weeks," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The initial reports had Jeudy missing up to eight weeks and then a follow-up estimated the second-year receiver was facing a four-to-six week timeline. Rapoport believes six weeks is an appropriate approximation. Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said K.J. Hamler, Tim Patrick, and Courtland Sutton will be the team's starting wideouts with Jeudy sidelined. Noah Fant should also benefit from a larger target share. The Broncos face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2.
numberFire's models expect Sutton to lead the Broncos with 7.9 targets in Week 2 and he has a $6,200 salary on FanDuel. Fant is second in line with a projected 6.5 targets and a $5,700 salary. Hamler is projected for 5.3 targets and Patrick is pegged for 5.2. The Jaguars allowed the seventh-most Passing Net Expected Points per dropback in the first week of the season.
