Cowboys to give Ezekiel Elliott (knee) 'serious load' Thursday
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott (knee) will have a "serious load" on Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
Elliott was a full participant at Monday's practice, but his workload has gone down this month and there was a recent report that the Cowboys were considering giving the back "time off to heal." Elliott totaled 49 yards and a touchdown on 15 touches in Dallas' Thanksgiving loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Tony Pollard recorded 14 touches for 68 yards. Despite Jones' comments, Pollard is expected to remain involved on Thursday night.
Zeke averaged 20.8 touches from Weeks 2-8, compared to 15.0 touches over the last four games. numberFire's models project him for 13.7 carries and 2.9 receptions on Thursday versus a Saints team that has the No. 1 run defense in our season-long power rankings.
