Rapoport: Saquon Barkley not expected to be traded by Giants
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is not expected to be traded ahead of the 2022 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 24-year-old running back was the subject of trade rumors following the Giants' front office changes this offseason, but Rapoport indicates that they were just that, rumors. Entering his fifth season, Barkley has missed a combined 21 games since the start of the 2019-20 season. For now, it appears he will begin the 2022 season alongside Daniel Jones in the Giants backfield.
In 13 games in the 2021-22 season, Barkley carried the ball 162 times for 593 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns, adding 41 receptions on 57 targets for 263 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns.
