Giants' Daniel Bellinger (face, eye) expected to undergo surgery
New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger fractured his eye socket and septum in the team's Week 7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and is expected to under surgery later this week.
Bellinger took a scary hit to the face in Week 7 and was very quickly ruled out with an eye injury after he was carted to the locker room. The Giants remain optimistic that Bellinger will be able to return this season, but he will likely be headed to the injured reserve for the time being.
Bellinger was beginning to assert himself as an important cog in the Giants' offense in recent weeks, playing 94% of the snaps in Week 6 and averaging 4 targets per game in Weeks 3-6. Hopefully the exciting tight end, who already has 3 touchdowns in his rookie season, will be able to make a full and speedy recovery.
