John Wolford (neck), Rams starter to be game-time call Thursday
Los Angeles Rams quarterback John Wolford (neck) will be a game-time decision on Thursday night versus the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14.
What It Means:
Wolford is dealing with a neck injury and the Rams want to see how he looks in pregame warmups before making a decision. Baker Mayfield, who was claimed off waivers this week, is expected to start over Bryce Perkins if Wolford is ruled out. Wolford completed 14 of 26 attempts for 178 yards and 2 interceptions versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13, and he added 29 rush yards.
The Raiders defense is third-worst overall and second-worst against the pass this season, per numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics. They are also allowing the third-most FanDuel points per game to the quarterback position, so Wolford or Mayfield will at least be in an advantageous situation. Wolford has a $13,000 salary on the single-game slate Thursday.
