Falcons' Kyle Pitts (knee) to 'settle into large target share' in 2023

ESPN's Michael Rothstein reports that the belief from Atlanta Falcons offseason practices is that tight end Kyle Pitts (knee) will "settle into a large target share early in the season."

What It Means:

Pitts' 2022 campaign did not live up to expectations; he suffered a season-ending knee injury after toiling through 11 weeks of inaccurate quarterback play from Marcus Mariota. It seems like the team has far from given up hope for Pitts, though, and he is reportedly expected to take on a large target share once the 2023 season officially begins. We unfortunately did not get to see how Pitts and new starting quarterback Desmond Ridder meshed last year, but theirs will be a connection to watch in the opening weeks of the 2023 campaign.

Pitts will need to garner a large target share to put up fantasy-relevant numbers in the Falcons' run-heavy offense, but did showcase an ability to do just that in his impressive rookie season. He's numberFire's TE5 for the upcoming season and is projected to score 103.2 fantasy points.
