Bills' Gabriel Davis earns raise ahead of pivotal 2023 season

Buffalo Bills receiver Gabriel Davis received a raise to his base salary due to the NFL's Player Performance Escalator program.

What It Means:

Davis entered the league as a fourth round pick and has been able to produce for the Bills in each of his first three seasons in the league. As a result of his performances with the team to date, he'll receive a raise to his base salary for the upcoming season as part of the NFL's PPE program, which provides incentives to players drafted outside of the first few rounds of the NFL draft if they are able to meet certain criteria. Davis has been the Bills' de facto WR2 over the past two seasons, but will look to become a more consistent producer for the team as he enters a contract year.

Davis' 200-yard, 4-touchdown game in the playoffs against the Chiefs two years ago set high expectations for the UCF alum heading into the 2022 campaign, but an ankle injury seemed to inhibit him throughout the year. While the Bills drafted another pass-catcher in the first round of the 2023 draft in tight end Dalton Kincaid, Davis should remain the team's top wideout behind teammate Stefon Diggs. Our models project him for a WR41 finish in fantasy this season.
