Michael Carter in line to open season as Jets' No.2 running back
New York Jets running back Michael Carter is in line to open the season as the second option behind Breece Hall, according to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt.
Carter is competing with Israel Abanikanda and Zonovan Knight for the number two running back position behind Breece Hall. That spot could have added significance early in the season with Hall making his way back from last year's season-ending knee injury. Rosenblatt expects Carter to begin the season in the number two spot but notes that he expects Abanikanda to eventually pass him for that role.
Carter's 2023-24 season projection includes 46.39 carries, 193.91 rushing yards, 1.02 rushing touchdowns, 10.67 receptions, 76.91 receiving yards, and 0.57 receiving touchdowns.
