Lions acquire Denzel Mims in trade with Jets
Former New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims was traded to the Detroit Lions on Wednesday.
Mims, a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, will join the Lions with Detroit sending a conditional 2025 6th-round pick to New York. The Jets also included a conditional 2025 7th-round pick to the Lions in the deal. Mims failed to make an impact in three seasons in New York and was not a part of the Jets' plans after bringing in Aaron Rodgers and two of his former wide receivers this offseason. Mims will join a Lions' offense that is primed for success this season and should have an opportunity to earn a roster spot in a less crowded receiver group.
In three seasons on the Jets, Mims caught 42 of 85 targets for 676 yards and 0 touchdowns.
