Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) still Raiders starter when healthy
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will be the starter when he clears the concussion protocol, per head coach Josh McDaniels.
Aidan O'Connell started in place of Garoppolo in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie fourth-round pick was serviceable, but he didn't do enough to pry the starting job away from Garoppolo. The Raiders will play on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5.
O'Connell completed 24 of 39 passes for 238 yards, no touchdowns, and 1 interception on Sunday. He also rushed for a touchdown. Davante Adams unsurprisingly led the Raiders with 13 targets, but O'Connell also peppered Josh Jacobs with 11 pass attempts. Jakobi Meyers and Hunter Renfrow tied for third on the team with 4 targets each. If Garoppolo remains out for Week 5, Jacobs should be upgraded in PPR formats while Meyers and Renfrow will lose appeal.
