Saquon Barkley (ankle) officially limited Wednesday for Giants
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) is listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report for Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.
Barkley participated in team drills for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 2. This tentatively puts him on track to suit up on Sunday in a tough matchup with the Dolphins. Matt Breida will return to backup duty if Barkley is cleared. The Giants averaged less than 200 yards and scored 15 total points without Barkley the past two games.
The Dolphins are allowing the eighth-most FanDuel points per game to running backs and their run defense is second-worst in the league, according to numberFire’s opponent-adjusted NEP model. The Giants are still double-digit dogs on the road, but Barkley is talented enough to exploit a susceptible Miami run defense.
