Patriots to lean on Demario Douglas amid injuries to multiple wide receivers
New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas has an opportunity to step up with the team dealing with injuries to Kendrick Bourne (knee) and DeVante Parker (concussion).
Douglas has seen an increased role in New England's offense over the past two weeks, commanding a combined 13 targets. With Kendrick Bourne (knee) out for the season, he will have an opportunity to build on that stretch of production. The Patriots are expected to "lean more" on Douglas and JuJu Smith-Schuster moving forward, according to Chad Graff of The Athletic. In Week 9, Douglas will face a Washington Commanders pass defense ranked 29th in numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics.
Douglas' Week 9 projection includes 5.3 targets, 3.4 receptions, 39.3 yards, 0.21 touchdowns, and 7.4 FanDuel points. His salary is $5,200.
