Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) expected to practice Thursday for Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice in some capacity on Thursday for Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers, per head coach Doug Pederson.
Lawrence will at least go through individual drills after sitting out completely on Wednesday. He suffered an AC joint sprain in last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is uncertain for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers. C.J. Beathard will start if Lawrence is ruled out for the first time in his NFL career.
Lawrence is the QB11 in numberFire's Week 17 rankings and our models project him for 17.0 FanDuel points. The Panthers are only allowing the fourth-fewest FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks, but they allow the fourth-most to running backs, so the Jaguars may look to rely more on Travis Etienne if Lawrence is less than full strength. Per numberFire's opponent-adjusted efficiency rankings, Carolina has the No. 21 pass defense and No. 30 run defense in the league.
