Cardinals' Tony Jefferson expected to command big money as free agent
Arizona Cardinals impending free agent safety Tony Jefferson will command $7 million per year, Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports.
Jefferson could get a lot more than that on this market, being the top safety available and having just turned 25. Getting $7 million annually would tie Jefferson with Eagles free safety Rodney McLeod as the 10th-highest-paid safety. With teams needing secondary help and armed with plenty of money due to an always-increasing salary cap, Jefferson could end up costing $9 million-plus.
The Cardinals finished last season ranked ninth in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play.
